About the domain:
Château Clos des Jacobins has its origins in the 17th century. The name "Jacobins" comes from the Benedictine monks established on site who welcomed pilgrims on the way to Compostel "Jacobins" thus refers to Saint-Jacques de Compostel.
Located at the entrance to the medieval city of Saint-Emilion, it has an 8.5 hectare vineyard in one piece.
About the cuvée:
This 1990 cuvée was produced under the great era of Cordier. Famous Bordeaux merchants who then had some of the most beautiful Bordeaux properties. These bottles in excellent condition have thus been produced with all the care of the Cordiers. This 1990 cuvée received the nice score of 86 Parker points.
About the 1990 vintage:
The 1990 vintage is considered one of the greatest successes of the 20th century. The perfect summer conditions brought the grapes to full maturity. The clay and limestone soils specific to Saint-Emilion brought freshness and avoided the production of top heavy wines.
