Champagne Philipponnat - Royale Réserve Brut - Disgorged in May 2005
The name “Royale Réserve” refers to the ancestors of the Philipponnat family, owners of vineyards, merchants and winemakers, suppliers to Louis XIV, magistrates and royal mayors of Ay.
The Royal Reserve cuvée is a classic cuvée from the Philipponnat house. In the heart of Champagne in Mareuil sur Aÿ, the Philipponnat house produces great Champagne wines.
Blend of pure cuvée from the most noble terroirs and a majority of pinot noir. Weakly dosed, it expresses great vinosity without losing freshness. Ideal aperitif, it will go just as well with starters and poultry.
This wine was disgorged in May 2005 after aging for a minimum of 3 years in chalk pits.
