Château l'Enclos 1983 - Pomerol
86 pts RP
Bottleneck level
Worn and torn label
Optimal cork and state of preservation
Like many estates in the Pomerol appellation, Château l'Enclos has a small vineyard. 9Ha of vines producing around 50,000 bottles per year.
The Château has the terroir (soil and subsoil) typical of the region. It is this very particular terroir that gives Pomerols all their typicity (power, elegance and smoothness).
The vintages of Château l'Enclos are characterized by aging for more than a year in around 50% new wood, which varies depending on the vintage.
This 1983 vintage was particularly well noted in its time by a great American critic, whose name we must keep silent on pain of having to pay a copyright (the worst is that it is true).
In any case, the 1983 vintage was not the best but, like the 1987 vintage, the wines from the Right Bank are doing the best.
