2nd vin du Château Margaux
The second wine from the famous Château Margaux.
Most of the second wines of Bordeaux châteaux appeared 30 or 40 years ago, but at Château Margaux, the Pavillon Rouge was created in the 19th century and has been called the Pavillon Rouge since 1908. It was however discontinued in the mid-years. 1900 before being brought up to date in 1977 by André Mentzelopoulos.
The terroir is identical to that of the 1st wine but the difference is during the assembly of the different batches. Young vines are used for this second vintage.
The cuvée comes out after 15 to 20 months of aging.
When tasting this Pavillon Rouge 2006, find aromas of violets, spicy notes, pomegranate and ripe fruit. A lively and fresh wine.
