PAVILLON ROUGE DU CHATEAU MARGAUX 2011- MARGAUX
The second wine from the famous Château Margaux.
Most of the second wines of Bordeaux châteaux appeared 30 or 40 years ago, but at Château Margaux, the Pavillon Rouge was created in the 19th century and has been called the Pavillon Rouge since 1908. It was however discontinued in the mid-years. 1900 before being brought up to date in 1977 by André Mentzelopoulos.
The terroir is identical to that of the 1st wine but the difference is during the assembly of the different batches. Young vines are used for this second vintage.
The cuvée comes out after 15 to 20 months of aging.
The 2011 vintage of the Pavillon Rouge is one of the most powerful ever produced. This very long-keeping wine will become a great classic of the 1982 and 1986 vintages. The ideal gift to celebrate the 2011 vintage.
