PAVILLON ROUGE DU CHATEAU MARGAUX 1986 - MARGAUX
The second wine from the famous Château Margaux.
1986 was a very good year in the region so this wine is exceptional and ready to taste now or to age a little in the cellar because it is intended for a long aging.
Most of the second wines of Bordeaux châteaux appeared 30 or 40 years ago, but at Château Margaux, the Pavillon Rouge was created in the 19th century and has been called the Pavillon Rouge since 1908. It was however discontinued in the mid-years. 1900 before being brought up to date in 1977 by André Mentzelopoulos.
The terroir is identical to that of the 1st wine but the difference is during the assembly of the different batches. Young vines are used for this second vintage.
The cuvée comes out after 15 to 20 months of aging.
