Vosne-Romanée 1er cru "Malconsorts" 1997 - Moillard-Grivot
Level: 1 cm
Color: Perfect
Label: Stained and Torn
Overall condition: Good
The Premier Cru "Malconsorts" is located at the top of the slopes. A neighbor of the Grand Cru la Tâche and the highly sought after "Les Gaudichots", it is one of the best 1er cru of Vosne-Romanée (although a number of Vosne-Romanée Premiers cru are fantastic). This "climat", which has exactly 5.86 ha of vines, produces rich, complex and elegant wines and, something rare enough to be emphasized, not too acidic.
As often there is a presumed explanation for the name of this 1er cru. "Malconsorts" would come from a lack of consensus and therefore from a conflict around the ownership of this plot which was, formerly, managed in community. A bottle to open during a lively family meal.
