Domaine Guy Coquard, located in Morey-Saint-Denis, produces very fine wines from the most prestigious appellations of the Côte de Nuits (Clos Vougeot, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin etc.)
The exploitation of the domain under the name Guy Coquard ended for lack of buyer within the family in 2004. Since then, the vineyards of the domain are exploited by the excellent Arlaud estate.
This Morey-St-Denis "les Blanchards" 1er cru refers to the color of the very calcareous, poor and stony soil, leaving a whitish powder under the shoes. This reference to the structure or the color of the earth is found in many names of climates, like the climat "les amoureuses" in Chambolle-Musigny which stick to the boots.
This climate is located in a narrow band in the heart of Morey-St-Denis.
