Presentation of the Philippe Rossignol estate:
Philippe Rossignol created his estate in 1976 with 2.5 hectares of vines. Over the years he expanded the farm until he acquired his first 1er cru in 1990. In 2005 his son Sylvain joined the farm which today has 7 hectares. An additional 10 Ha are rented.
The estate places great emphasis on respecting the terroir and biodiversity. We encourage you (and this is extremely rare) to visit the estate's Facebook page which frequently publishes very beautiful images of the activity in the vineyards of Domaine Philippe Rossignol
Presentation of the 1er cru “Les Corbeaux:
The premier cru Les Corbeaux is located right next to the grand cru Mazis-Chambertin, . Its pleasant aromas of black cherry are supported by a deep, dark structure and a touch of oak, a truly imposing premier cru.
The 2005 vintage at Gevrey-Chambertin: Simply sublime
A warm, cloudless spring which saw both early bud break and flowering. June and July were dry with high temperatures until August when the heat was not overwhelming. The sporadic showers of September rehydrated the vines. The Indian summer also allowed the grapes to slowly reach perfect phenolic maturity.
The reds feature the rich, ripe fruit of a warm year, offset by exceptional acidity, reminiscent of cooler years. Perfectly balanced between deep concentration and elegant freshness, many wines possess the structure necessary for long-term aging.
