Vosne-Romanée 1973 - Pierre Ponnelle House
Presentation of the domain:
Pierre Ponnelle is a wine house established in Beaune since 1875. It now offers more than 40 appellations. All cuvées in white, red or sparkling are exclusively produced from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gamay for the Beaujolais crus.
About the 1973 vintage:
Although the vintage got off to a good start with a hot and dry start to the summer, heralding a great year, the heavy rains that occurred before the harvest resulted in diluted wines.
It will therefore not be the vintage of the century, although some producers have managed to produce attractive wines.
Tasting tips:
This bottle of Vosne-Romanée will probably be interesting as a gift for a birthday or a special event. We advise you to taste it on its own or as an accompaniment to fresh cheese or a weak starter. There is no need to decant this wine before serving it.
