Chambolle-Musigny 2011 Combe D'Orveaux - Domaine Laurent
The Domaine Laurent may not mean anything to you? On the other hand, you probably know Dominique Laurent and his "Haute-Couture" business?
Domaine Laurent Père et Fils is a small structure created by Dominique Laurent and his son Jean in which they are producers and breeders.
Most of the vines they cultivate are leased to a former winegrower from Vosne-Romanée, from the Haegelen-Jayer estate, and are ideally located. No purchase of grapes.
They work according to the principles of organic farming, which means taking maximum risks in the cellar! They like to vinify from unstemmed grapes and raise their wines without sulphur, raising for a long time in new wood a rich and concentrated material, obtained from very low yields. Their reds are deep and solid.
La Combe d'Orveau takes its name from its particularly privileged location. Positioned just above the Musigny grand cru (just that), the Orveaux or "Vaux d'Or" (gold valley in French) is exposed south, south-east. Its soils are rocky and rich in limestone.
