The Vincent Bourgeot estate is a little more discreet, no website, no reseller, no tasting cellar. Although active since the early 1990s, it is difficult to obtain information about it. Located in Gevrey-Chambertin, this small estate sells all of its production directly to individuals. Difficult to get bottles or information. It seems that the estate only produces grands crus from the Charmes-Chambertin appellation.

About the 2001 vintage:

An exceptional vintage, especially for the red wines of Côte de Nuits Spring was blessed with beautiful sunny periods. However, after a cool and rainy month of July, summer really set in in August, bringing sometimes scorching heat and abundant sunshine.

Unfortunately, violent storms of rain and hail caused significant damage to some vines. In September, cooling and low rainfall required increased vigilance from winegrowers to choose the best time to harvest. The vinification of red wines required a technical approach to extract the best potential in coloring matter and tannins.

Red wines, they reveal bright and intense colors. Their structure is powerful, thanks to firm tannins and a balanced level of acidity. They offer a delectable flesh, accompanied by a pleasant and expressive fruitiness. The wines of Gevrey-Chambertin and Vosne-Romanée stand out in particular, enhancing this remarkable harvest.

You will have understood it, a particularly rare great wine for laying down which will probably please those who like wines that are out of the ordinary.
