Clos Vougeot "Musigni" 2008 - Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur
Presentation of the domain:
The Gros Frère et Soeur estate, located in Vosne-Romanée, is one of the most prestigious on the Côte de Nuits. Founded in 1960, it covers an area of 20 hectares spread over several appellations, including the famous Clos Vougeot. The estate's vines are grown organically and the vinification is traditional, respectful of the terroir and the grape.
Presentation of the cuvée:
Clos Vougeot 'Musigni' (and not Musigny) is a rare and prestigious cuvée from the Gros Frère et Soeur estate. This is a red wine from the exceptional terroir of the Côte de Nuits, more precisely from Clos Vougeot, a grand cru located in Vougeot. The 'Musigni' cuvée comes from old vines, which gives it remarkable aromatic complexity and depth.
Presentation of the 2008 vintage:
The 2008 vintage was marked by an early spring and rapid flowering, followed by a hot, dry summer. The harvest started early and made it possible to harvest grapes at optimum maturity. Clos Vougeot 'Musigni' 2008 is characterized by a beautiful structure, aromas of black fruits and spices, as well as a persistent finish.
Food and wine :
Clos Vougeot 'Musigni' 2008 is a wine that goes perfectly with red meats, game and aged cheeses.
Serving Tips:
The 2008 Burgundians are often quite "closed". The wines indeed offer a stricter style than those of solar vintages like 2005 or 2009. It is therefore recommended to decant this bottle at least one hour before tasting it to allow the wine to breathe and release all its aromas.
