Duhart-Milon belongs to the Domaines Barons de Rothschild who also own the famous domains of the Gospel, Rieussec and Lafite.
It is even the neighboring estate of Lafite Rothschild, which promises an exceptional terroir !
However, Duhart-Milon is a much more accessible wine in terms of price, with this know-how and this terroir, it would be a shame not to take advantage of it to taste it, especially since it is often described as a model of the appellation Pauillac.
The wine has aged 14 months in barrels and is made up of a blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
June 2020 Tasting Notes: 1978 was a good vintage in Pauillac, light brick color but seems younger than its age. At the nose, we get great notes of coffee, chocolate and peppers. At the palate the wine is fresh, melted and medium bodied tannins. Almost no more fruit but some cooked cherries are still here, the finish is long and chocolatey.
