Champagne Piper-Heidsieck Brut Vintage 2004
A Heritage Rich in History:
Founded in 1785, Maison Piper-Heidsieck represents a tradition of nearly two and a half centuries of producing quality champagnes. Each cuvée reflects a heritage deeply rooted in the Champagne region.
About the 2004 harvest:
This vintage is named "Le Racé" by Piper-Heidsieck. It is a racy and tonic wine, full of elegance and fruit. It comes from a blend of 58% Pinot Noir and 42% Chardonnay.
The dry and mild weather which prevailed during the year undoubtedly explains the abundance of the 2004 vintage. The harvest lasted almost 3 weeks and the expressive wines which result from it are faithful to the characteristics of each vintage: complex and deep pinots combined with powerful Chardonnays of extreme finesse. A successful year.
An original champagne for true lovers of bubbles. But we know that more and more of you are in this case.
Food and wine :
Piper-Heidsieck 2004 Champagne Brut Millésimé is the ideal companion for fine dishes. Its balanced structure and liveliness make it a perfect choice to accompany seafood, poultry dishes or even soft cheeses.
WUAT's opinion: We recently tasted cuvées from Maison Piper dating from the same period. We were impressed with the quality of the wines. Very low in sugar, chalky and creamy as desired. Powerful notes of toast and cedar wood. A nice length, no bitterness or heaviness. In short, a bottle that can be drunk in a few minutes.
Tasting advice: Try to taste it after about ten minutes of opening to give it time to open up.
