Clos de Vougeot 1989 - Jean Grivot
Level: 2 cm
Overall condition: Excellent
It is within Clos-De-Vougeot that we find almost all the most famous producers of the Côte de Nuits.
However, and although its fame is well established, the "clos" is large, very large even (49.25 ha) for an annual production often exceeding 230,000 bottles. All in the Grand Cru appellation. This volume would make a Bordeaux Château owner laugh very loud, but for Burgundy, a region proud of its climates and micro-plots, this huge grand cru looks like an exception as well as the Corton grand cru appellation.
So be careful and trust the reputation of the producer and the location of his vines. Below you will find a map of the clos with, in blue, the location of the vineyards of the Grivot estate.
The 1.86 ha vineyard was acquired in 1919 by Gaston Grivot.
